Earthquake in Ecuador

An earthquake has occurred off the coast of Ecuador (Richter scale 7.8).

Overnight the updates have come in and a state of emergency has now been called in six of the provinces and thousands of troops and police have been deployed. Fatalities grow with each news report and currently stand at 246.

Regis' team is involved in the response in order to provide food to families. We are on the way back to Panamá. Plans are already underway but a meeting has been called back at the office amongst key staff.

Busy roads - and Sophie has been sick in the car on the way back.

A very warm day (28 deg C at 11 p.m. at night) with cloud building up.

The wet season should be here by now. Everything is very dry but it is still humid (87%).

I am here until next Sunday when I fly to Lima to meet up with PC.
