Another climb

The Big Walk - up Mt Buffalo (1723m)
This turned out to be quite tough: it was just unrelentingly up - 11.3 kms (or more like 12 kms if you count the side trips off to the lookouts) and a 1000m climb; but it was the going down that was hardest - especially on the knees. Ouch!

I was surprised how hard this was. As Pam C (& her Richard) described it - "a bit of a grunt".

Nevertheless, it was a pretty walk. Dave and I were on the track close to 8 a.m. and Eurobin Creek at the start was pretty in the mist. Unfortunately there were burn-offs in progress so the views were not clear but the bush itself was pretty - particularly with the candlebark gums and the soft grasses.

We had a picnic lunch near the Chalet at the top - and a coffee from a coffee van! - then the tough downhill. A total of roughly 24 kms.

Best part was the cold beer at the boutique brewery in Bright with hot chips! Yum!
